Summer at The Portland Preschool of the Arts 2024
LET THE SUMMER FUN BEGIN!
Designed for 3 - 5 year olds!
Each week our camp takes a deep dive into a different theme to teach our kids about the wonderful world we live in. From Rainforests to Oceans, Bugs to Pirates, our arts based camp is designed to introduce campers to the tools that help them explore the reaches of their imagination!
Our camp days are broken up with indoor time where much of our artmaking activities happen, and outdoor-action time at the large lawn outside our classroom! With activities for everyone, your camper will join in dance parties, group sing-alongs, group games, and more!
We believe at The Portland Preschool of the Arts that every kid deserves a high-quality art education that is targeted towards each child’s unique interests and skillset. We take pride in creating a welcoming and safe environment for campers that helps unleash their inner artist while having fun with new friends!

Hours: Monday - Friday, 9:00a - 1:00p
Drop-off : 9:00a
Pick-up: 1:00p
Ages: 3 - 5
Do you offer camp for K-5 aged kids?: Sure do! Check out The Hangout HERE!
Cost: $225/week
Outdoor Time: LOADS! We’ll be spending tons of time at the imagination playground right outside our school.
Does my child need to be potty trained?: Yes.
What should my child take to camp?: Please make sure to pack a sack lunch and a full water bottle with your child, as well as apply sunscreen prior to coming to camp.
Is this a religious program?: Not at all! We are so thankful to the Tabor Heights United Methodist Church for hosting us this summer. Our program has no affiliation to any religious group and our space will be closed to the public during camp hours.
Cancellation Policy: Cancellation requests received two (2) weeks, or more, will incur a $25 cancellation fee. Cancellation requests received less than two (2) weeks prior to start of camp will receive a 50% refund. No refunds on cancellation requests received 72 hours or less prior to start of camp.

Week 1: EnchaNted Forest!
JuNE 17 - JuNe 21
Fairies and unicorns, elves and gnomes - all of our favorite woodland creatures will be coming to join us this week as we explore the wonder of enchanted forests through crafts and play-based learning! This is the perfect camp for those kids who love magic, have big imaginations and a penchant for the natural world.
Week 2: Animals around the worlD!
June 24 - June 28
This week we’re introducing our campers to our favorite furry, scaly, and feathered creatures! Whether your favorite animal is the cheetah or the alpaca, the shark or the dog, the parrot or the polar bear, we’ll be exploring species in far away lands as we learn all about the diversity of the animal kingdom. Coming to camp with fun facts about YOUR favorite animal to share with your new friends is encouraged!
Week 3: Pirates & Mermaids Week!
July 8 - July 12
Time to shell-berate - it’s PIRATES & MERMAIDS WEEK! This week we’ll be taking a deep dive into the magic and legends of those mystical water nymphs while learning about the sword fighting swashbucklers who call the Seven Seas home. From fin-tastic crafts to pirate ships, mermazing games to treasure hunting - what a plunderful week it will be!
Week 4: Rockstars Week!
July 15 - July 19
Calling all future rockstars and musicians, dancers and singers! It’s your time to shine because it is ROCKSTAR WEEK! Inspired by our favorite beats, we’re making our wildest dreams come true with rockstar themed crafts, song and beat focused games, and music-making on our bongos, tambourines, xylophones, and more! What type of music will you create?!
Week 5: Water Week!
July 22 - July 26
WOWZER it can get hot in Portland during the summers. That means it’s time to escape the heat and chill out with our new friends! We’ll explore art projects that utilize the wondrous world of water and engage in outdoor play that’s sure to make a splash! Be prepared to get wet - it’s WATER WEEK!
Week 6: Plants & Bugs!
August 5 - August 9
It’s time to talk about some of the largest - and tiniest! - members of our ecosystem who keep world turning- PLANTS & BUGS! For any ladybug enthusiast, it’s your time to fly. And lovers of trees? We be-leaf this camp is for you! We’ll make art inspired by butterflies and roses, beetles and daisies, bumble bees and margiolds. We’re getting ANT-sy just thinking about it!
Week 7: TIME TRAVEL!
August 12 - August 16
Buckle your seatbelts, grab your flux capacitor and prepare for an adventure - it’s TIME TRAVEL WEEK! We’ll be taking our campers on a trip to the past through decade themed art projects and games. We’ll listen to classic oldies and learn a bit about what the world was like before McDonalds, TV or iPhones. No need to bring a souped up Delorian or Christopher Lloyd - we’ve got you covered!
